Do not touch, press, rub, massage, or manipulate the treatment area during the first few days.
Swelling, bruising, redness, numbness, and inflammation is to be expected and can last up to two weeks after Kybella treatment.
You can apply (over the counter) Arnica gel to the treatment area to help decrease bruising, swelling, and discomfort.
Take (over the counter) acetaminophen and/or pain reliever if needed to decrease post treatment discomfort.
Drink plenty of water and fluids after treatment.
No vigorous exercise for 48 hours post treatment.
Don’t apply ice for 2 hours post-treatment.
After the first 2 hours it is recommended to ice as needed for the next 24 hours to decrease swelling. Be aware that your skin may be numb so you may not feel the normal sensation when the skin has gotten too cold.
After the first three days, you may begin massaging your neck to help the lymphatic system drain the treated area, use a moisturizer or skin oil and ask us if you need help with this.
Repeat Kybella treatments at 6 weeks are often indicated for best results, always discuss your treatment plan with your provider.
