Filler Post Treatment Instructions

Immediately after the procedure, you can expect to have some swelling at the injection sites. This is your body’s normal inflammatory response, and it will not last long. Inflammation generally peaks between 1-3 days and begins to improve between 3-5 days after the procedure.

Unless otherwise instructed, avoid massaging/touching the treated area for 24 hours after the procedure.

To avoid excess swelling, do not consume excess sodium or alcohol.

Avoid makeup the first day after filler to decrease risk of infection.

For swelling, use a cool compress/ice pack for 5-10 minutes each hour and take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. If bruising occurs, do not use Ibuprofen as it will prolong bruising.

If swelling persists, we recommend sleeping slightly elevated on your back.

If bruising occurs, ice and Arnica Gel can be used to decrease the duration of the bruise. Arnica is also sold in tablet form at Target and CVS and can be helpful as well.

Benadryl can be used at bedtime to help with swelling as needed. Other antihistamines like Claritin or Zyrtec can be used as needed for swelling.

If you are unsure about your results, we recommend waiting 2 weeks for swelling to decrease and the product to settle in.

Follow ups are always available to evaluate and treat.
