Before your peel at Vitality
Follow these tips to get the best results and safest outcomes from your peel at Vitality!
DOs:
1. Consultation First:
If you booked a peel directly, we may contact you to set up a virtual consultation prior or call you with specific recommendations.
2. Use Sunscreen (SPF 30+):
Protect your skin from sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to the peel.
3. Hydrate:
Drink plenty of water and keep skin moisturized leading up to the treatment.
4. Discontinue Retinoids:
Stop using retinol, tretinoin, or other vitamin A products 5-7 days before the peel.
5. Stop Exfoliating Products:
Avoid scrubs, AHAs, BHAs, and enzymes 5–7 days prior.
6. Plan Downtime:
Arrange for a schedule post-peel that avoids sun or sweat exposure.
7. Notify About Medications:
Inform your provider about antibiotics or photosensitizing medications.
DON’Ts:
1. No Waxing or Hair Removal:
Avoid waxing, threading, or using depilatory creams on the treatment area for 7 days prior.
2. Skip Tanning or Sunbathing:
Refrain from sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before the peel.
3. Avoid New Products or Treatments:
Don’t try new skincare products, facials, or treatments for 1–2 weeks before the peel.
4. No Smoking or Alcohol:
Avoid smoking and alcohol 48 hours before the procedure to promote optimal healing.
5. Skip Intense Workouts:
Refrain from activities that cause excessive sweating on the day of the peel.
